RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EQUALITY AND PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the relationship between equality and personal achievement. Some people believe that individuals can achieve more in egalitarian societies. Others believe that high levels of personal achievement are possible only if individuals are free to succeed or fail according to their individual merits.
What is your view of the relationship between equality and personal success?

Recently people raise an issue that human beings are able to meet with more considerable success in equal societies. Others would think, not a matter of equality, the important factor led to succeed in life is individual merit. I completely agree with the former argument.

On one hand, it is clear that individual merits play a significant role. Individually, each person is all responsible for his or her own living. Egalitarian society can solely create essential conditions for its citizens to maintain an average life. Naturally, it does not guarantee the same high-standard living for everyone. To reach great achievements, people necessarily pursue a plan and make endless efforts in long-term period. Best results are attainable for those who thirsty for innovation and passionate for excellence.
On the other hand, equality makes a significant contribution to the success of each member in the society. Firstly, education was not paid sufficient attention by law makers, causing that schools were not opened for the poor previously. Today’s compulsory education ensures that everyone, whether poor or rich, has opportunities to attend class. It, therefore, allows individuals to achieve more. Secondly, cultural revolutions crossing many countries, has brought more rights for women, enhancing their influence as considerably as men’s in the society. Both female and male employees nowadays make equal prospects in career ladder.
In conclusion, the relationship between personal success and society’s equality remains controversial. From my viewpoint, I believe that an egalitarian society drastically impact on the achievements of everyone.

FORMAL EXAMINATION

Do you think that formal written examinations are a good way to assess                          knowledge at school?

Evaluation methods of a student’s performance has always been an area of contention around the world. Many believe that this can be done by continual assessment of their assignments and project work. On the other hand, people are also in favour of formal examination.  I believe the latter is more appropriate option. This can be proved by analyzing the fact that the homework and projects done at home can be copied and also memory of a student can be tested in a formal test only.

First of all, there are many reasons that nowadays assessment done through formal written examination. Firstly, with the help of written examination teachers also check the ability of the students and give marks according to their performance. Moreover, students also write more idea through written exam because they have more time to write and explain things if they give speaking test they cannot speak well in front of any other person and loss their marks so written exam also helpful for the students. Apart from this, written examination also easy to check for the teachers because they collect the paper and check at any time and also check the performance of the students through written test but projects and assignment students cannot perform very well and most of the time they do cheating and show copied assignment of other student to their teachers.

In addition to this, in written examination students cannot do cheating from other students because there are also two or more teachers stand in one class room and all classes are under the invigilator. So, students do hard work for get good marks in every exam, if teachers give projects and assignments to the students as homework so they copy it from Internet and make all the assignment as it as and mostly students take help from their parents to complete any projects. As a result, they spoil their future because they have no knowledge about it.

To conclude, looking at the discussion it is clear that advantages of formal testing outweighs the advantages of testing by assignments and projects. I believe the method should be implied across the globe and it can be predicted that many countries will adopt this way of assessment because of its effectiveness.

SUMMARIZE WRITTEN TEST

                 SUMMARIZE WRITTEN TEST

YOU SHOULD WRITE A SUMMARY IN 5 TO 75  WORDS

Illustrations and stories in United States primary school textbooks tend to convince young girls that they should be ‘passive’ and ‘dependent’ creatures who need aspire only to lives of service to their future husbands and children, a conference of educators was told here yesterday.
Speaking at the first national conference on schools and sex role stereotypes, a University of California professor said a study of the 100 most widely used elementary text-books demonstrated that girls are constantly depicted as dependent on and subservient to boys.
Louise White, of the U.S. Office of Education, told the conference that the female stereotype presented to elementary school children was so overwhelming that by the time most girls reached fourth grade they believed they had only four occupations open to them - nurse, secretary, teacher, or mother.
The director of the elementary school textbook study, Lenore Weitzman, of the University of California, said that texts in spelling, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies were examined.
Most stories and illustrations tended to centre on boys rather than girls, and those boys tended to demonstrate qualities of strength, intelligence, love of adventure, independence, and courage.
Girls, however, were depicted in passive roles. Usually they were inside a house, and often they were helping with housework or playing with dolls.
When boys and girls appeared together in a text, she said, the girls were either watching the boys do something or they were helping the boys.
Adult men appearing in elementary school texts were depicted in various jobs - astronaut, truck driver, policeman, cowboy, scientist, banker - in addition to the role of father.
But the overwhelming picture of women that emerged from the elementary texts was that of mother and housewife. Even at that, said Professor Weitzman, the picture was one of a woman performing simple but time-consuming chores. It failed completely to reflect the complexities facing a modern housewife.
A study was done by an affiliate of the Central New Jersey National Organisation for women on 34 books published by 14 major publishing companies and involving 2,760 stories for elementary school children.
According to the findings the composite housewife or mother was a ‘limited, colourless, mindless creature...’ Not only does she wash, cook, clean, nurse, and find mittens: these chores constitute her only happiness.
‘In illustration, she frequently appears in the servant’s posture, body slightly bent forward, hands clasped, eyes riveted on the master of the house or the children.’
In contrast, the typical father found in the study was ‘the “good guy” in the family. He’s where the fun is. He builds things with his children and takes them hunting, fishing and up in planes. He solves the problems.’
The effect of this on young girls, Professor Weitzman said, is to make them think their role is to serve others. They think they should be attractive so that they can please others and although they generally have better academic records than boys by the time they reach adolescence, they value academic and scholastic excellence less than

IS IT TRUE THAT CONFORMITY ?

Is it true that conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy? Is non-conformity almost always to be welcomed?

Conformity among individuals does not always leads to deadening of their creativity or energy. Non conformity in all cases cannot be encouraged. This essay will provide justification proving the former.
Firstly , conformity will probably enhance an individual discipline and mannerisms. If this aspect is absent in a person he wont be able to perform any task with dedication. If used in a productive way it brings about their creativity to light.By illustrating this with an example, when a person participates in a reality show with dedication and rules set, the participant will obviously project his talent to the world and will ascend to the top without any animosity between other participants. If this conformity is absent it is obvious that people's mind will take for granted and will try to break the rules and this might be detrimental to others.
Secondly, non-conformity should not be always welcomed. This will lead to disastrous implications. Without any pre-requisite plans set the creativity or a persons energy may go haywire which do not match with good qualities such as timing, punctuation and basic mannerisms.

In a nut shell, in my personal opinion without a shadow of a doubt i conclude that any human on this earth is bound to conformity which do not lead to deadening of creativity or energy instead it will follow the policy "live and let live"
